Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO)The Urgent Care Physician provides timely, high-quality medical care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries in an urgent care setting. This role focuses on rapid evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of non-life-threatening conditions, emphasizing patient-centered care, efficiency, and appropriate care coordination.Evaluate and treat patients with acute medical conditions and minor injuriesManage common urgent care presentations such as respiratory infections, gastrointestinal illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries, lacerations, burns, and minor traumaPerform procedures consistent with training and privileges, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound careOrder and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, X-rays, and point-of-care testingPrescribe medications and provide treatment plans appropriate to urgent care settingsProvide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up careIdentify patients requiring higher levels of care and coordinate transfers to emergency departments or specialty servicesDocument patient encounters accurately and in a timely mannerCollaborate with nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and support staffParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction initiativesComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal MedicineBoard-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal MedicineAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilityStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsAbility to manage a wide range of acute conditions efficientlyProficiency in office-based and minor surgical proceduresExcellent communication and patient education abilitiesAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, high-volume environmentsCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered careUrgent care centers with extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysShift-based schedulingAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinical environmentManual dexterity for procedures and examinationsVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and communication
