The Buyer will support complex sourcing initiatives, supplier coordination, and procurement activities tied to long-term product development programs.This is a long-term opportunity offering exposure to advanced engineering programs, supplier collaboration, and strategic purchasing initiatives within an enterprise environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Procurement SupportSupport engineering and suppliers to design manufacturable componentsFollow up with suppliers on RFQs and sourcing activitiesAssist with procurement efforts related to new product and technology developmentTranslate engineering requirements into purchasing and sourcing actionsSupport supplier engagement through meetings, communications, and site visits as neededSupplier & Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with engineering, supplier development, and procurement teamsCollaborate with suppliers to support project schedules and deliverablesParticipate in cross-functional discussions to support purchasing and sourcing decisionsMaintain strong internal and external communication across stakeholdersProject Coordination & AnalysisManage multiple sourcing activities and project milestones simultaneouslySupport cost analysis, value engineering, and total cost considerationsReview and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentationTrack purchasing activities to ensure alignment with project timelines and objectivesPerform additional purchasing and procurement duties as assignedRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related fieldMaster’s degree accepted in lieu of some experience10+ years of relevant experience, or5–7 years of experience with a Master’s degreeInternship experience does not count toward the required yearsRequired Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environmentStrong project management and organizational skillsTechnical background with ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD modelsExperience working with suppliers and supporting sourcing activitiesData-driven mindset with strong analytical skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working onsite and collaborating cross-functionallyAdditional Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering disciplinesFamiliarity with quality and advanced product planning processesSupplier relationship management experienceWillingness to relocate to or work long-term in the Tucson, AZ area
