Gasoline StationsWater, Sewage and Other SystemsNatural Gas DistributionJunior CollegesDepartment StoresLoss Prevention AssistantThis position is responsible for assisting the Loss Prevention management team in supporting the organization's efforts to provide a safe and secure work environment for the Company's employees and support efforts to protect the Company's assets from loss or damage with primary responsibility relating to the Distribution Center.Position Responsibilities:Responsible for assisting in the administration of Loss Prevention processes and procedures designed to protect and control the physical assets of the Company and to maintain overall physical security of the facilityResponsible for assisting in the administration of processes and procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment for employees and other associatesResponsible for assisting in controlling access at all entrances and screening credentials of visitors, job applicants and contractors who are requesting access to the facilityResponsible for assisting in controlling inbound and outbound shipments to and from the facility to include recording information on log sheets, following truck seal procedures and inspection of Bills of Lading (BOL) and other applicable paperworkResponsible for assisting in the administration of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all appropriate federal, state and local laws or ordinancesResponsible for helping maintain various CTPAT best practices as part of the Loss Prevention program at the facilityResponsible for responding to alarms or other critical conditions at the facilityResponsible for completing various reports/forms documenting accidents, safety violations, shortages and other incidents as requiredResponsible for assisting in internal/external investigations as neededDirect response of emergency personnel to fire, accident or other related emergencies at the facilityResponsible for assisting in parking lot security for employees and their automobiles, as well as the security of all Company trucks and trailers by utilizing padlocks and glad hand locks as requiredResponsible for assisting in assuring adequate maintenance and placement of fire extinguishers, as well as periodic inspection of existing sprinkler and smoke alarm systems and assist in annual fire drillsResponsible for assisting in periodic security and safety audits/inspections and help verify that the facility is compliant with OSHA and insurance carrier/risk control requirementsResponsible for assisting in assuring proper safety processes and procedures are followed at the facilityEssential Skills and Experience:High school degree or equivalent is requiredOne year of experience in loss prevention, security or a law enforcement capacityGood communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the CompanyAbility to handle confidential informationAbility to prioritize work and answer questions related to work assignmentsAbility to work with minimal supervisionGood computer skillsAbility to multi-task, be detail-oriented and have the ability to perform the job under a low to moderate level of stressWillingness to be potentially exposed to moving mechanical parts and tools, moving powered industrial equipment, moving vehicles, fumes or airborne particles, high places, changing weather conditions and moderate to high noise level in a Distribution Center environment
