This position serves to: Advance the maturity of the SMS within Tech Ops through planning, direction, training, and oversight Increase management’s decision-making effectiveness related to improving human performance by ensuring CASS’s tracking of Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) elements provides the appropriate data, context, performance metrics, trends, goals, and corrective actions, in a clear and concise formatEssential FunctionsManage development and implementation of SMS in accordance with 14 CFR Part 5 and when appropriate, the guidance contained in Advisory Circular (AC) 120-92 as revisedStrategic and tactical planning for the development and implementation of the Tech Ops safety risk profile, to enhance management’s perspective of the operational landscape and aid in effective decision-makingEnsure regular convening of the Tech Ops Safety Action Group and Data Analysis Group, as required by the GMMMaintain Technical Operational leadership’s awareness of hazards and risk within the operationAdminister SMS documentation standards that promote up-to-date, single source, system-centric recordsStrengthen team members’ SMS process facilitation proficiency through training and supervisionIncrease and maintain Tech Ops personnel’s System Assessment and Safety Risk Management proficiency levelsEnsure the accomplishment and quality of System Assessments and Safety Risk Assessments through training, process facilitation, documentation reviews/feedback, and Risk Control verifications of effectivenessManage the incorporation of Tech Ops Safety Assurance inputs into SMS (such as: VDRP’s, regulatory findings, negative performance trends…etc.)Other FunctionsEnhance the safety culture through SMS training and safety communication and promotionInterfaces with Safety department by representing Technical OperationsEnsure CASS complies with 14 CFR 121.373, and when appropriate, the guidance contained in Advisor Circular AC 120-79 as revisedCollaborate with affected departments to establish the necessary context, data collection, metric(s), and goal(s) that will provide the CASS board with the information and awareness required to drive effective changeDevelop reliable, accurate and efficient methods for data collection and reporting, harnessing automation when feasibleManage the tracking and regular status updates of corrective actions for performance issues/trendsHost monthly CASS Board meetings in which the presentation:Tracks and trends unacceptable performance in the execution of the maintenance program in accordance with Frontier’s manualsProvides a collaborative forum for corrective action developmentReports on corrective action progress and effectivenessMaintain a file system to store and archive data collected and used in CASSManage daily staffing to ensure department deliverables are completed on timeProvide direction, training, and supervision to the CASS staffMaintain positive and proactive relations with Employees, Leaders, and Executive Leaders.Ensure that Tech Ops personnel, including this position, are properly trained and qualified to perform their assigned SMS and CASS functionsVDRP In departments without Supervisors, ensure that personnel within the department including themselves, are properly trained, qualified, and that they are current to perform assigned tasks.
