SolidWorks CAD Exhibit Drafting Engineer

We are currently seeking a full-time SolidWorks CAD Drafter to join our team.
Job Description:
CAD Drafters support the fabrication of new interactive exhibits and structures by creating accurate 3D Solidworks models, construction drawings, and CNC mill files. Drafting Engineers report to the Lead Engineer and also coordinate with Project Managers, Designers, CNC operators, Cabinet Makers & Exhibit Fabricators, Metal Fabricators, Painters, Outside Vendors, and other fellow Drafting Engineers throughout this process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Create CAD Models
Create structural and mechanical shop drawings including cut lists & bill of materials
Prepare CAD models for CNC router and laser cutter
Coordinate with designers, project managers, CNC operators, fabricators, and fellow draftsman
Mechanical and electrical prototyping for exhibit inspections as required
Support company operations through attending appropriate meetings and functions
Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and managers, and politeness to clients and vendors
Other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of work experience using SolidWorks.
Understanding of how things are fabricated through various processes such as CNC milling, woodworking, and metal fabrication and the tools used to fabricate them.
Some knowledge and experience using various hand tools, power tools, various saws, routers, drills, etc.
Candidates should possess some mechanical knowledge
Electromechanical engineering and programming experience preferred
Must have a strong attention to detail, note taking, and organization
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Inventive spirit, initiative to work alone without direct supervision, and be responsible for timely completion of assigned tasks
Good communication skills, positive attitude, and be able to succeed in a team environment

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
