Back Cove has exceptional world-class craftsmen and women in the boat building industry who craft beautiful luxury yachts.Back Cove is currently hiring Carpenters and Lamination Techs.Carpenter Job description:This successful candidate will also have good knowledge of woodworking tools and techniques including; finished trim work, cutting miters and compound miters, scribing, and back cutting. This position requires reading and following boat specs, along with comprehending simple instructions and mathematics skills.Carpenter Responsibilities Include:Choosing the correct color and grain to matchRead and follow specifications to measure and align parts and install into hullsPosition parts in specified openings with screws or laminatesTake measurements and calculate the size and amount of material neededCut, shape and sand wood, and other material according to measurementsInspect and fix repairsMilling wood with various machines to boat specsBuild component parts and millwork for installationMixing resins, putties, and catalysts in proper ratiosSafe handling of chemicalsCarpenter Requirements:Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materialsExcellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and constructionExperienced in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (tables saws, power tools, miter saw, ban saw, routers, and measuring tape, etc.)Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all timesAbility to work in small spacesPre-employment physical and background checkLamination description:This successful candidate will have good knowledge of hand laminating techniques along with mixing resins, putties, and gelcoats.
