High School Science Teacher (7-12)DutiesThe teacher is elected by the school board upon the recommendation of the principal and superintendent. The teacher carries out the policies of the school as directed by the principal and is responsible directly to the principal. The primary functions and duties of the teacher are as follows:Direct all activities of the classroomMaintain control of the classAssume responsibility for the care of the classroom and equipment assigned to himInform, explain, and demonstrate how, to studentsAssist in extracurricular activities and duties as assigned by the principalMaintain records and submit reports to the office as requiredReport to parents concerning progress of studentsBelong to local and state professional organizationsAttend various meetings and activities as required by the PrincipalPrepare requests for approval of needed supplies and equipmentReport maintenance problems to the officeRefer major discipline problems to the principalMaintain a professional working relationship with co-workers and administratorsLicensure requirements:181 EndorsementTraining And Experience Possess secondary teaching credentials in Science.
