Respiratory Therapist (PT)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time (weekends and evening for approx.15 hrs/week) Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a passion for improving patient outcomes and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teamsResponsibilities:1. Respiratory Therapy• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings2. Documentation and Compliance:• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocolsQualifications/Requirements:• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.• Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas• Skills:o Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedureso Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilitieso Excellent communication and interpersonal skillso Ability to work in high pressure situations and maintain a calm demeanorCompensation :$50/hourThe Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
