Project Manager - K-12/Higher Ed/Commercial
Position OverviewThe Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects. This role provides day-to-day leadership across assigned projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, subcontractor performance, and client expectations are managed effectively. Working closely with field leadership, senior project management, and ownership stakeholders, the Project Manager plays a key role in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while also mentoring junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide daily oversight and management of all assigned construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Actively participate in preconstruction activities, including coordination, planning, and scope review.Monitor project progress, subcontractor performance, and overall project costs to ensure alignment with project goals.Review and manage RFIs and submittals prepared by Assistant Project Managers or support staff.Maintain working knowledge of project bids, subcontract agreements, and contract documents.Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to support project cost, scope, and schedule objectives.Prepare monthly billings, financial reports, and cost projections.Plan and lead weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings and ensure clear communication of action items.Manage owner and architect expectations throughout the project lifecycle.Collaborate with Superintendents to review project schedules, subcontractor pay applications, and contract completion dates.Oversee timely project closeout, including documentation, punch list completion, and final billing.Represent the organization at owner-sponsored meetings, events, and project-related functions as required.Train and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators when assigned.Ensure compliance with owner and subcontractor contract requirements.Maintain project documentation and fulfill all internal and external administrative responsibilities.Visit assigned jobsites regularly (minimum twice per week) to stay aligned with field operations.Communicate openly, consistently, and proactively with Superintendents, Senior Project Managers, and leadership regarding milestones, risks, and challenges.Support junior staff development through mentoring and guidance.Complete required continuing education on an annual basis.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.K-12 and/or Highe-Ed experience highly preferredProven experience managing commercial construction projects with multiple stakeholders.Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, scheduling, and subcontractor management.Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining budget and profit targets.Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration and project success.High level of professionalism and commitment to internal and external customer service.BenefitsCompetitive compensation ($100K - $150K Salary)Performance-driven culture with growth and advancement opportunitiesPaid time off and paid holidaysContinuing education and professional development supportOpportunity to work on meaningful commercial projects that impact the community
