Through programs, partnerships, and public service, the Library connects people to information, technology, and each other in ways that reflect the evolving needs of our diverse community.Position Overview & Key ResponsibilitiesThe Community Digital Literacy Supervisor leads a team focused on digital literacy, community engagement, and equitable access to technology. This role blends day-to-day supervision with strategic planning, ensuring services are responsive, consistent, and aligned with community needs and City priorities.What You’ll Be Doing:Supervise Community Librarians, Digital Navigators, and related staffProvide coaching, performance management, and professional developmentOversee digital literacy programs, services, and community engagement effortsUse data, feedback, and trends to improve services and guide decisionsBuild partnerships with community organizations, schools, and local agenciesSupport staff training and development in digital tools and technology supportAddress complex patron concerns and escalated service issuesAssist with budgeting, reporting, and operational planningCurrent & Upcoming ProjectsDevelop and implement a systemwide vision for digital literacy servicesPilot new approaches to digital navigation, including 1:1 support and workshopsExpand partnerships to increase digital access for underserved populationsBuild staff training programs to strengthen technology support skillsWhat You’ll Need to SucceedWe’re looking for a collaborative and adaptable leader who is passionate about digital access and community impact.Strong supervisory skills, including coaching and accountabilityAbility to support staff in delivering technology-focused servicesKnowledge of digital literacy practices and barriers to accessStrong communication skills across diverse audiencesAbility to analyze community needs and adapt services accordinglyExperience building partnerships and working across teamsCustomer service mindset with strong problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentJob ClassificationFor more details, please click on this link for job classification description: Library SupervisorAcceptable Experience and TrainingBachelor’s degree in Library Science, Computer Science, Information Services, Public Administration, education, or a related fieldFour (4) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experienceOR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential dutiesLicenses & CertificationsValid Driver’s License requiredAdditional InformationWork Environment & SchedulePrimarily onsite, community-facing roleAnticipated schedule: Sunday – ThursdayIncludes one evening shift (Tuesday or Wednesday)Regular interaction with the public and community partnersWhy Join UsWorking for the City of Hillsboro means being part of a team that values community, inclusion, and meaningful public service. The incentive is only paid on hours in paid status.
