Learn more About Shoreline AND Video Tour Our Campus!The Health Informatics & Information Management (HIIM) Program offers degrees and certificates accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) or through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).Our HIIM programs are fully online, providing you the flexibility to work remotely. Beyond Washington state we can also accept applications from residents of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nebraska, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oregon, and Texas. We are looking for instructors with expertise in cybersecurity in the healthcare industry.Typical duties include the following:Teaching a Cybersecurity Fundamentals course (lecture and lab) to Health Informatics and Information Management studentsExpertise in cybersecurity including current practices, systems, governance and risk management.Interacting with students in weekly discussionsResponding to student questions in a timely manner* Developing curriculum as needed including learning activities or labs, exams, and recorded lectures.* Creating and updating HIIM courses on an ongoing basis based on industry standards and best practicesRequired Education & Experience:Master's degree in relevant field from an accredited institutionFive (5) or more years of cybersecurity industry experienceRelevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).Two (2) or more years of experience teaching online in a higher education environmentCurriculum development experienceKnowledge of:Microsoft Office programs, learning management systems, and other appropriate instructional technologiesAssociated regulations and trendsOnline curriculum developmentSkill in:Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the instruction of Cybersecurity and Health Informatics and Information ManagementFostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsivenessEffective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels inside and outside the CollegeIncorporating a variety of creative teaching methods to address the needs of a diverse group of learnersDeveloping/modifying curriculum both collaboratively and independentlyWorking and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgroundsPhysical Work Environment:The College operates with both on-campus and remote services, with this assignment to be completed in an online environment. For remote (online) instruction, faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs.Terms of Employment / Salary:This is a part-time, non-tenured, quarter-to-quarter assignment. Salary is dependent upon the number of contact hours for this assignment as provided in the agreement with the Shoreline College Federation of Teachers.
