Tax Manager
Mowat Mackie & Anderson is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our East Bay team. This role is well suited for candidates with broad generalist backgrounds as well as those whose experience leans more heavily toward high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, or partnerships and pass-through entities.We're particularly interested in professionals who enjoy building long-term client relationships and serving as trusted advisors beyond traditional compliance work.Please note this is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.About UsMMA is a well-established tax practice serving clients throughout California and beyond. What You'll DoManage and review a broad range of complex tax engagements across individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and estatesProvide proactive tax planning, research and advisory supportIdentify tax issues, develop practical solutions and communicate recommendations clearlyManage IRS and state tax authority examinationsCoordinate multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentCollaborate with firm partners and maintain strong client relationshipsLead, mentor and develop staff through coaching, delegation and feedbackContribute to process improvement and firm growth initiativesWhat We're Looking For7+ years of public accounting tax experienceCPA preferred; Enrolled Agent (EA) credential also consideredStrong proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement and Microsoft ExcelBenefitsCompetitive compensationMedical, dental and vision insurance401(k) plan with profit sharingLife and disability insuranceProfessional development and continuing educationInterested?
