Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS VA, MD or DC Required)

Urban Ltd provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.Urban is seeking a licensed land survey professional to manage a portfolio of projects for its survey department in our Chantilly, VA office.Applicants must be a Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS) in Virginia, MD or DC.RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in managing a team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Supervise the field coordinator in the scheduling of survey crews and office staff based on project deadlines.Assist in overseeing the generation of all survey-related work, such as boundary & topography surveys, plats, ALTA, and construction surveying.Compile and organize daily project field data.Coordinate, communicate, and direct the work of the office staff and field crews to provide precise location and grade control for site construction projects on time.Write proposals and perform monthly billing.Review plans and projects with other departments to ensure adequate survey pricing for project bids.Demonstrate expertise in the use and care of all survey equipment, including laser scanning and dronesAssure that accurate field location and grade control are communicated with other internal departments and clients on time to accommodate tight project deadlinesCollaborate and coordinate with all Urban staff regarding field surveysReview, approve, sign, and seal survey documentsBalance workloads for multiple projects and clientsRemain up-to-date on new advances in survey technologyMaintain existing Client relationships and expand Client base with Business Development.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEProfessional Land Surveying License (PLS) in VA, MD or DC - preferredFinal testing for PLS License in progress – consideredRequires a high school diplomaRequires a minimum of six years of surveying experienceProficiency in Land Surveying, including the latest technologyStrong CAD Software BackgroundWhat Urban Provides You:Highly Attractive Compensation and benefits packageSubstantial 401K contribution.$0 Health Insurance Premium option.Daily direct access to senior staff who provide mentorship and training.Flexible and casual work environment to help maintain a healthy work and life balanceCollaborative project teams that leverage individual strengths, fostering shared success and growth.Backlog of work to ensure career stability.Urban Ltd. is an equal-opportunity employer.
