We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON. We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.About This Role As part of Intersect’s Operations team, you’ll help ensure the performance, safety, and long-term reliability of utility-scale solar and energy storage assets at the Quantum I/II site. This role blends hands-on fieldwork with technical problem-solving, serving as a critical bridge between on-site operations and centralized Technical Services. You’ll build deep expertise in plant performance, maintenance quality, and contractor oversight while developing the foundational skills to lead a world-class power generation facility.This role is designed as an early-career growth opportunity, with a focus on learning the full scope of site operations—from technical diagnostics to safety leadership and contractor management—while contributing meaningfully to plant reliability from day one. Team Overview This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the renewable energy transition. The Operations team ensures that our generation assets perform safely, efficiently, and reliably at scale. By combining technical expertise, data-driven decision-making, and strong field execution, the team maximizes asset performance while continuously improving maintenance strategies across the fleet. Joining this team means working cross-functionally with engineering, technical services, and external partners to deliver real-world impact and build the future of clean energy infrastructure. What You’ll Do Drive Technical Insight & ReliabilitySupport Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts by gathering field data, downloading equipment logs, and providing site-level context to improve failure diagnosticsAct as the primary field liaison to Technical Services, identifying recurring equipment issues and contributing to fleet-wide reliability improvementsCoordinate and track specialized condition monitoring activities (infrared, ultrasound, NDT), ensuring findings are reviewed and resolvedEnsure Precision Maintenance ExecutionOversee third-party O&M providers, ensuring work aligns with contractual and technical standardsPerform quality audits on preventive maintenance activities, verifying accurate measurements and proper tool usageParticipate in pre-job planning with contractors to confirm technical scope, expectations, and critical quality checkpointsBuild Site Leadership & Operational ExcellencePartner with the Site Manager to develop capabilities in budgeting, safety leadership (HSE), compliance, and stakeholder managementContribute to the development of standardized work practices and training materials to support future in-house technician teamsHelp foster a safety-first, high-performance culture across site operations and contractor teamsSupport Operational Readiness & CommissioningAssist in construction-to-operations handoff activities, including inspections and commissioning validationEnsure systems meet reliability and performance expectations at commercial operationContribute to establishing strong operational foundations for long-term asset success What You’ll Bring B.S. in Electrical Engineering1-3 years of hands-on field experience with strong electrical and mechanical aptitudeAbility to interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manualsExperience gathering and analyzing operational data from SCADA systems, inverter platforms, or CMMS toolsFamiliarity with utility-scale power generation, energy storage, or similar industrial environments will help you ramp quicklyStrong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information between field teams and engineering stakeholdersDetail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision, quality, and continuous improvementCuriosity and motivation to develop expertise across multiple generation technologies, including solar, storage, and thermal systemsA safety-first approach and a commitment to building reliable, high-performing assetsCollaborative, growth-oriented work style that supports team success and knowledge sharingTotal Rewards Compensation: $118,000 to $135,000 (total compensation includes base salary + bonus in USD)Equity: Beyond your salary, you’ll receive an Equity Grant, giving you a meaningful stake in our parent company. Health & wellness: 100% premium coverage for you and your dependents on medical, dental, and visionTime to recharge: Unlimited PTO, plus two company-wide breaks (Fourth of July & end of year)Family support: Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, plus 6 additional weeks for birth parents; access to family planning and family care support through Carrot and MavenMental health: Free access to Spring Health, including 5 free therapy and psychiatry sessions, plus a Headspace account for mindfulness and meditation through our physical health vendor, Wellhub+Perks & extras: $150 monthly food stipend, $150 monthly reimbursement for cell phone and internet, pet insurance allowance, full home office setup, free access to UrbanSitter with $625 in quarterly company-paid credits, ActiveHero, and One Medical Intersect maintains a work environment free from discrimination, one where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
