Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & SourcingProcure raw materials including chemicals, resins, pigments, additives, and related inputs used in coatings manufacturingDevelop and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable supplyMonitor market conditions, lead times, and supplier performance to minimize risk and cost volatilitySupport sourcing strategies for multi-site manufacturing operationsPurchase Order ManagementCreate, issue, and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP systemEnsure accuracy of pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery locationsTrack open POs, expedite when necessary, and resolve discrepancies with vendorsInventory ManagementManage raw material inventory levels across three locations to support production while minimizing excess and obsolescenceCoordinate with Planning, Production, and Warehouse teams to align purchasing with demand forecastsPerform inventory analysis and support cycle counts and reconciliations as requiredReceiving & ERP TransactionsEnsure materials are properly received into the ERP systemResolve receiving issues related to quantity, quality, or documentationMaintain accurate inventory and purchasing recordsCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Finance to support formulation changes, new product introductions, and cost controlsSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, inventory turns, and supplier performanceCompliance & DocumentationEnsure suppliers meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements applicable to chemical and coatings manufacturingMaintain appropriate documentation for materials, including specifications and supplier recordsQualifications & ExperienceRequired5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a coatings, paint, chemical, or related manufacturing environmentBachelors Degree in Chemistry, Supply Chain Management or similar.Strong understanding of raw materials used in coatings or chemical manufacturingExperience supporting multi-site manufacturing operationsProficiency using ERP systems for purchasing, receiving, and inventory managementStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferredFamiliarity with chemical supply markets and vendor networksExperience with inventory optimization and demand-driven purchasingBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Key CompetenciesDetail-oriented with strong follow-throughComfortable working independently while supporting plant operationsStrong communication skills with suppliers and internal stakeholdersData-driven and cost-conscious mindsetPractical, hands-on approach to procurement and inventory managementThe base salary anticipated is $70,000 - $90,000 per year for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, actual compensation may vary and will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to, the applicant's skills, qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
