Family Practice - Without OB Physician

Join Our Team as a Locum Physician General Medicine NM and Make a Difference in Veterans' Lives Are you a dedicated general medicine physician seeking flexible, impactful clinical opportunities? Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company and trusted government contractor, is looking for committed Locum Physicians to deliver essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New Mexico. This role offers valuable experience, competitive pay, and the chance to serve those who have served our nation. In this vital position, you will provide interview-based assessments and physical evaluations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, to support Veterans benefits processes. You will work remotely from your own office within a defined 50-mile radius of Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, or Grants, NM, scheduling 1-2 days per week. This flexible PRN role is ideal for providers with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine, seeking ongoing, non-treatment examinations in a straightforward, interview-focused environment. Required Skills Valid medical license in New MexicoBackground in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicinePrior experience with compensation & pension exams or a strong interest in VA-related assessmentsExcellent clinical interviewing skills and attention to detailAbility to perform physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testingNice to Have Skills Experience with VA or government-related medical evaluationsCertification in specialization relevant to assessmentsFamiliarity with medical documentation and reporting proceduresPreferred Education and Experience Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institutionAt least 1 year of clinical practice or experience related to general medicine or disability evaluationsPrior participation in VA or veteran-focused examinations is advantageous but not mandatoryOther Requirements Own a suitable office with the necessary space and equipment within the specified radiusWillingness to perform both half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) assessmentsAble to complete required administrative follow-up work, including report submissions and addendums (unpaid outside scheduled shifts)No travel reimbursement outside your professional rates; local candidates onlyCommitment to adhering to all credentialing and onboarding processesEarn $624 per hour, with flat rates of $800 for half-day shifts and $1,600 for full days. A one-time bonus of $650 is available for completing initial training and your first exams.
