Verification Infrastructure Engineer- Testbench Architecture
Overview
In this role you will provide technical leadership for the functional verification strategy of next-generation microprocessors. You will maintain and improve verification methodologies and infrastructure, lead modernization projects, and deliver training and documentation. You’ll collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and cross-functional teams to define effective verification solutions. This is a chance to shape scalable verification frameworks and impact processor programs at AMD. You will mentor peers and help raise the team’s expertise while driving measurable productivity gains.
ResponsibilitiesLead modernization of Zen architecture verification infrastructure to simplify DV methodologies and reduce development complexityArchitect, develop, and maintain reusable C++ verification libraries for stimulus generation, model checking, and scalable workflowsDrive productivity through standardized, reusable verification frameworks and automationLead strategic infrastructure initiatives including AVF replacement and next-generation testbench modernizationCollaborate with CPU design, architecture, verification, and CAD teams to deploy scalable verification solutionsIdentify opportunities to improve verification efficiency, testbench maintainability, and validation quality across programsProvide technical leadership and mentorship to influence verification methodology and long-term roadmaps
Key requirementsExtensive experience in CPU, SoC, or IP design verification with modern DV methodologiesProven expertise building verification infrastructure, frameworks, and reusable C++ librariesExperience with stimulus generation, model checking, reference model development, and automationStrong testbench architecture knowledge and verification scalabilityExperience supporting complex processor or microarchitecture programs from concept to productFamiliarity with AVF analysis or related resilience/validation methodologiesAbility to simplify complex verification flows and improve productivityStrong software engineering skills: OO design, code quality, version control, CIExcellent collaboration, communication, and technical leadershipcommunicationcollaborationmentorshipC++ verification librariesstimulus generationmodel checking
