Big-D Construction has an opportunity for a Sr. Project Engineer to join our team of construction professionals based in Irvine, CA. Key responsibilities include:Receive and review submittalsWrite and track RFI's and process or assist in change ordersPrepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutesMaintain construction drawings, provide marketing assistance as requiredAssist Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administrationUtilizes and maintains the company standard project administration software, Prolog, and Big-D formsKeeps up-to-date on construction drawings and as-builtsPrepare and manage procurement tracking logs to correlate with the project schedule and the demands of the projectKeeps up-to-date on submittals, RFIs and responses, project changes & work progress, especially the items that could delay project or cause a loss, if installed incorrectlyVisits each project site prior to the commencement of construction, and video records all areas that might by impacted by the constructionMaintains the electronic and hard copy project folders as requested by the project managerProvides the required up-to-date copies of drawings and specifications to subcontractorsQuality Assurance/Quality Control: Assists superintendent in verifying that all materials installed coincide with the approved submittalsEnsures that the project site and construction activities are being constantly documented in writing and especially in photosAssists with 3-week look ahead schedulesAssists the project team to create, manage, and modify subcontract agreement and/or purchase orderCoordinates with the project manager to track master subcontract agreements, and ensures that the office receives signed agreements backAssists the project manager and job cost accountant, as necessary, with preparation and review of monthly pay applicationsProvides clerical activities, as needed, with particular project staffingAssists with project bids and bid solicitation, as requestedOther job duties may applyRequirements: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of related experience working on commercial construction projects; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBenefits: 100% Coverage for medical and dental insurance for individual or family plans.
