Adjunct Instructor in American Sign Language/ASL-English Interpreting

DescriptionThe Division of Humanities and Fine Arts at Keuka College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses in American Sign Language and American Sign Language-English Interpreting. We are looking for passionate and dedicated faculty members who are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and enjoy working with undergraduate students. This is a pool position, and qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview as needed.General ResponsibilitiesTeach courses as needed in American Sign Language, such as introductory courses for students in the ASL and ASL-English Interpreting programs.Specific ResponsibilitiesInstruct students in courses in the American Sign Language and American Sign Language-English Interpreting programsPlan course instruction based upon approved syllabus, goals, and objectivesDesign, administer, and grade essays, examinations, and applicable projects to accurately assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabusAs appropriate, contribute to program assessment of student learning outcomes based on signature assignments in coursesCreate a classroom environment conducive to learning and actively engage studentsMaintain regular office hours to meet one-on-one with studentsWork with the program faculty to ensure instructional quality and program qualityAdhere to College policies and proceduresEssential SkillsExperience teaching American Sign Language.
