Electrical Systems Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Specialist to install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. In this role, you will ensure the optimal performance of electrical systems by diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and performing preventative maintenance. Your expertise in electrical theory and safety protocols will be crucial in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, replacing defective control modules and making necessary adjustments to maximize system performance.
Conduct preventative maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Utilize hand and power tools, electric meters, and other instruments to perform duties effectively and safely.
Adhere to safety procedures related to electrical hazards, including lockout/tagout, arc flash hazard protocols, and electrostatic discharge prevention, to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform tests and assessments on new systems and repairs to guarantee quality and compliance with standards.
Assemble and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment to support infrastructure expansion and upgrades.
Respond promptly to service requests, efficiently troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems to minimize disruptions.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Demonstrated hands-on experience with 3-phase electrical systems.
Experience working with 480V electrical systems.
Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions accurately.
Comprehensive understanding of basic electrical and electronic theory, National Electrical Code standards, and troubleshooting techniques for AC and DC equipment and circuits.
Proficiency in using and interpreting various instruments, meters, gauges, and dials; ability to read and understand electrical schematics and PLC programs.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
2-year degree in electrical technology.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an electrical technician.
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and related equipment.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and detailed specifications.
