Deputy Student Turnout Projects Director for Training and ProgramThe OpportunityIn just under two years, the Youth Team @ Strategic Victory Fund has incubated and scaled programming reaching young voters that has:Had an in-person footprint on over 150 campuses in battleground statesHired and trained nearly 200 full-time staffers and 1,800 part-time student staffersDeveloped over 100 student-focused social media accountsReached nearly 6 million voters online, over 300m timesThe Student Turnout Projects is our flagship operation a cohort of state-based organizations working to organize college campuses with scrapiness and creativity. We're looking for a Director to lead work in this vertical. The Deputy Director, Training + Program will be accountable for the training and program development of STP 2026 programming, including the potential incubation of new state-based organizations.As we look to 2026, we're continuing to support and evolve programming with our existing partners, while continuing to innovate and incubate new programming that will drive record Gen-Z turnout in 2026 and 2028 elections.The Role:The Student Turnout Project seeks a Deputy Director to support our state teams in training and program development as they work to engage young people, especially on college campuses.In this role, you would:Design, write, and execute the Student Turnout Projects' training strategy in partnership with state teams, including hiring, managing, and training as neededWork with the STP Director to develop processes and templates for strategic planning and program development with state teams, including Get of the Vote (GOTV) planningBuild out and manage training plan for national staffBuild close relationships with STP State Directors and their staff to advise them on program, including creating resources, trainings, and ongoing coaching for staff at all levelsOperate as a desk for in-state staff, as neededFacilitate trainings, as neededYou should have:Subject matter expertise in how to mobilize college students to voteExtensive experience in program management, organizing management, or trainingExperience thinking through a holistic training program, including train-the-trainer programs, to ensure staff at all levels are well-trainedExperience with long-term strategic planningBe equally comfortable/enthusiastic about coaching a staffer with little experience, as you are coaching and up-leveling a very experienced stafferExperience working cross-departmentally and navigating relationships between state programs and national teamsExisting relationship with trainers and training organizations is not required but is a plusThe belief in the value of state-based leadershipWe recognize that candidates can come across these attributes in a variety of ways and are open to candidates from diverse career backgrounds. We suspect that candidates with some of the following experiences may be particularly well-positioned:RODs/DODs/GOTV Directors/ODs on statewide campaignsCampus Organizer as part of longer career in campaigns or organizingA role on the training team of a campaign or progressive organizationTeaching experience combined with other experiences in the campaign/organizing worldTravelThis role will likely involve a high level of travel to spend time with our in-state partners. 20-30% of time for most of the year. Over 50% of time during the Fall 2026 semester.LocationNew York City or Washington, DC preferred.
