Project Manager, IT (Remote)
General Purpose:The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and successfully delivering medium-to-large technology projects that support the company's organizational strategy, functional needs, and the IT department's operational outcomes. This role manages the full project lifecycle--demand intake, business case scoping, requirements, delivery execution, change management, communication and stakeholder management, and stabilization--so that projects meet the required scope, quality, budget, and schedule while minimizing risks and maximizing business value. The IT Project Manager partners closely with business unit owners, IT leadership, technical architects, and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into executable roadmaps that deliver value and drive accountability throughout execution.Direct Reports: NoEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end delivery of concurrent IT projects across core systems, infrastructure, security, and application domainsIndependently evaluates scope, timeline, budgets, risks, issues, balancing competing business priorities, assessing project impacts, and dependencies with structured project controlsIndependently develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, and resource plansLeads project governance by considering risks, business impacts, costs, and strategic alignment and making recommendations to stakeholders regarding project direction. Drive clear and consistent communication (written, verbal, visual) with IT leadership, business sponsors, and cross-functional teamsLead steering committees, sponsor touchpoints, and status reportingPartner with Change Management and Training functions for user adoption and enablementIndependently evaluates project requests, assesses business value, organizational impact, technical feasibility, and resource requirements, and makes recommendations regarding project prioritization and initiation. Evaluates and ensures project alignment with organizational objectives, enterprise architecture, operational readiness, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities, recommending adjustments where appropriate. Independently identifies, evaluates, prioritizes, and develops mitigation strategies for significant project risks affecting operational continuity, budgets, timelines, security, and customer experience.Evaluates competing organizational priorities and recommends allocation of project resources across multiple concurrent initiatives.Exercises discretion and independent judgment in balancing project constraints, evaluating alternatives, resolving complex project issues, and making recommendations that significantly influence project success and organizational objectives.Advises leadership regarding project prioritization, investment decisions, implementation strategies, and organizational readiness.Other Responsibilities:Maintain documentation, decision logs, project plans and burndowns, change logs, and post-mortemsContribute to portfolio reporting and transparency for leadership visibilityCoordinate work across internal resources and external partnersManage statements of work, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and handoff to the businessEnsure projects transition smoothly into production operations and support structuresContribute to stabilization, hypercare, and lessons learned to improve IT organizational maturityPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience3--5+ years of experience managing IT projectsDemonstrated experience delivering technology projects involving systems integrations, SaaS applications, infrastructure, or enterprise platformsProficiency in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid environments)Competence with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Azure DevOps, or equivalent)Experience with vendor coordination and cross-functional delivery teamsOther Qualifications:Proven ability to exercise sound independent discretion to manage scope, schedule, risks, issues, and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to analyze complex business and technical issues, develop strategic recommendations, resolve competing priorities, and influence executive decision-making.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiencesTPx is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
