Position Title: Pharmacy TechnicianPay Range: $24 - $28/hourWork Arrangement: 100% OnsiteSchedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts within 7:00AM – 7:00PMMust be available for a 10:30AM – 7:00PM shift as neededOvertime may be offered or mandated depending on workloadREQUIRED LICENSE & CERTIFICATION (MUST HAVE)Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (current and in good standing)Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – RequiredPurposeThe Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in processing and managing prescription orders, interpreting and dispensing prescriptions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position also collaborates with Leads and Supervisors to resolve issues, support operational priorities, and provide high-quality patient service.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately enter prescription orders into the pharmacy system in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, HIPAA, and internal policies.Obtain complete prescription information from healthcare providers and assist pharmacists with product replacement or missing prescription details.Support patient adherence by updating medication, allergy, and medical history records; triage calls to Nurses or Pharmacists as appropriate.Communicate with insurance payors and providers using internal/web tools to verify prescription coverage and benefits.Provide professional, efficient interactions with internal teams and external stakeholders.Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in pharmacy operations.Perform additional duties as assigned, including inbound/outbound call handling, prioritization of work, testing, and other tasks as designated by management.Check pharmacist voicemail and escalate messages as needed.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentCurrent Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (active and in good standing)Retail pharmacy experienceStrong and accurate data entry skillsKnowledge of medical terminologyCall center and/or customer service experienceStrong attention to detail and ability to make quality decisions under general supervisionClear, professional communication with healthcare professionals and patientsProficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
