We use design thinking to develop new technologies, anticipate the future of buildings and environments, and change the way people experience art, everyday objects, and their immediate surroundings.Job SummaryThe Assistant Director of Human Resources supports the overall Human Resource functions within the organization, assisting in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and programs. This role involves collaborating with senior HR leadership to enhance employee engagement, drive talent management initiatives, and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 - Provide input to unit strategic planning efforts with regard to human resources to include but not limited to organizational planning, restructuring, and communications.Job Duty 2 - Serve as division's representative to Institute level human resources organization including serving on committees and providing policy input.Job Duty 3 - Perform other duties as assignedJob Duty 4 - Coordinate the investigation and resolution of human resource related issues.Job Duty 5 - Provide HR Leadership, consultation, and training to unit management and staff.Job Duty 6 - Serve as HR representative ensuring proper exchange of information between unit and Office of Human Resources (OHR) and other administrative offices across the Institute.Job Duty 7 - Oversee and coordinate human resources related activity within representative units to include employment, employee relations, compensation/benefits, etc.Job Duty 8 - Ensure proper documentation of hiring administration, job advertisements, employee development/discipline, and other related HR functions.Job Duty 9 - Ensure consistent practice and application of policies and procedures related to HR and applicable state and federal laws.Job Duty 10 - Research, propose, develop, and implement policies, administrative practices, and software solutions in support of more efficient and strategical HR practices.Educational Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired ExperienceEight to ten years of job related experiencePreferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsCertifications through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM)Preferred Educational QualificationsMaster's DegreeSkills Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities This job requires advanced knowledge of human resource administrative policies and procedures as well as human resources related federal and state regulatory requirements; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build strong professional and cross-functional relationships with organization management, staff, and campus units; excellent verbal and written communications and organization; working knowledge of common office applications and software.Knowledge/AbilitiesCoordinate and manage faculty HR processes for tenure-track faculty, research faculty, postdoctoral scholars, special appointments, and related roles, including hiring, onboarding, leave administration, separations, retirements, emeritus status, and offboarding, ensuring accurate and compliance processing in GT TRACS and OneUSG.Review, process, and approve faculty HR transactions submitted by schools and units, maintaining accurate, complete, and compliant faculty records and ensuring adherence to institutional policies and deadlines.Create, post, and manage faculty openings for the College, CIDI, and associated units.Coordinate annual evaluations and related activities, partnering with academic and administrative stakeholders to ensure timely, consistent, and compliant completion.Provide leadership and operational support by collaborating with the HR Director on Fall Orientation and other onboarding initiatives and serving as a resource for faculty and unit leadership on HR-related matters.
