Magnolia Advanced Materials is dedicated to delivering reliable, high-quality materials to support critical applications worldwide.Job Overview: This position is responsible for preparing and testing samples of all manufactured materials in accordance with work instructions, customer specifications and recording test results as required. Principle areas of focus are testing single /two-part epoxy’s physical and mechanical properties; in addition to processing all incoming raw materials. This includes verifying that the Certificate of Analysis meets all specifications before the raw materials are released to inventory. This is not a typical laboratory setting and it is hands on – physical in nature and can be messy due to the makeup of epoxies in general.  Duties and Responsibilities: The ability to work within a diverse team, as well as being self-motivated.This position has daily interaction with various chemicals and chemical mixtures.Actively run large testing frames (compression, shear, and peel testing), burn chambers, and various lab equipment such as digital balances/RVT viscometers / durometers / hydraulic press/etc.Perform physical and mechanical inspections of all manufactured products in accordance with testing instructions and specification requirements.Perform inspections of all incoming raw materials to ensure Certificates of Analysis meets specifications.Perform duties in a laboratory environment to ensure that lab procedures, equipment, materials, and products meet Company standards and specifications.Maintain a Quality Control Log containing date, product name, batch number and sample number for each product manufactured.Maintain a Quality Control Batch Log containing date, name of Formulator and batches manufactured by each Formulator that were acceptable, modified or rejected.Support continuous improvement activities to enhance the Company’s Quality Controls.Actively engage in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities.Collect a sample or “retain” from every batch of product manufactured.Maintain a computerized scale system by keeping scales operational and verify calibration records.Maintain an inventory of forms and spare parts by verifying inventory of items: notify laboratory manager when items are needed.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and regulations.Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications:Must have good written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrate the ability to work within a diverse team, as well as being self-motivated.Must be able to multitask and be able to prioritize according to urgency.Must be comfortable working in a chemical laboratory environment performing tests per material specifications.Basic mathematical skills required.Must have basic computer skills including MS Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and the ability to learn testing equipment software. Must have ability to adapt to daily workload changes. Required Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma requiredQuality Control experience, Two- or 4-year degree in associated discipline is a plus, but not required.Technical school a plus.Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.ASQ training or certification preferred.
