Design Engineer

Role Description This part-time, on-site Design Engineer role at Tony Technologies is based in Melbourne, FL. The Design Engineer will contribute to the development and refinement of products by creating detailed designs, models, and specifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include translating product requirements into engineering designs, preparing and reviewing CAD drawings, and supporting prototype builds and testing activities. The role involves troubleshooting design issues, optimizing components for performance and manufacturability, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. The Design Engineer will also participate in design reviews, document engineering changes, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Design Engineering and Product Design to create functional, manufacturable, and user-centered solutions.Candidates should possess solid Mechanical Engineering skills to analyze, develop, and validate mechanical components and assemblies.Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to produce accurate 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation.Candidates should possess foundational Electrical Engineering skills to collaborate on products involving electronic components and systems.Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Engineering or a related field, experience in product development environments, and familiarity with prototyping and testing processes are beneficial.Additional beneficial skills include problem-solving, attention to detail, effective communication, ability to work collaboratively on-site, and familiarity with industry standards and safety practices.
