The PositionThe OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Scientist 3 in the department of Immunology Discovery to work on drug discovery in the field of inflammatory diseases in the Vucic lab. The candidate is expected to plan, execute and interpret experiments by collaborating within and between different labs and departments. This is a hands-on laboratory position with opportunities to contribute to target discovery, mechanistic examination of the pathways of interest, and evaluation of candidate molecules by in vitro and in vivo experiments related to cellular and inflammatory biology. Candidates familiar with T cells, monocytes/macrophage biology and innate immunity are especially encouraged to apply. You will have opportunities to productively collaborate with other researchers across departments, present your work to project teams, and contribute to scientific publications.Who You ArePh.D degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related fields with a minimum of 3 years of academic and/or industry experiencePractical experience in design, development, validation and execution of cellular (e.g. Flow cytometry), molecular, and in vivo assays/experimentsWilling to learn and execute pre-clinical in vivo studiesStrong creative problem-solving skills, and ability to think logically and independentlyStrong enthusiasm and passion for science and drug developmentAbility to manage multiple projects in parallel and work with multidisciplinary teamsStrong communication, time management, and organization skillsPreferredA foundation in immunology and hands-on expertise in immune cell assaysExperience with primary cell isolation and culture (T cells, neutrophils, etc.)Experience with pre-clinical in vivo studies involving treatment and tissue dissectionPublication of research findings in scientific journalsRelocation benefits are available for this posting.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $103,400 to $192,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
