JOB TITLE: Quality Control Specialist EMPLOYER: Sherwood LumberCorporation DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Yard Foreman EFFECTIVEDATE: 4/1/2025 SUMMARY: The Quality Control Specialist is responsiblefor ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all outbound shipmentsthrough a secondary verification process prior to trucks exiting thefacility. This role serves as a critical quality control checkpoint,confirming that all materials, quantities, and documentation match orderrequirements. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, astrong commitment to safety, and the ability to support additionaloperational functions as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: OutboundLoad Verification: o Perform a final audit of all outbound truck loadsprior to departure to ensure accuracy of items, quantities, and customerorders. o Cross-check physical product against shipping documentation,pick tickets, and system records. o Identify and resolve discrepanciesin coordination with yard team before release. Quality Control: o Serveas the secondary control point to prevent shipping errors and maintainhigh customer satisfaction. o Verify product condition to ensure itmeets quality standards prior to shipment. o Document and report errorsor trends to support continuous improvement initiatives. SafetyCompliance: o Maintain awareness of surroundings during truckinspections to prevent workplace incidents. o Utilize required personalprotective equipment (PPE) at all times. Operational Support: o Providecoverage for designated roles during breaks or absences, ensuringcontinuity of operations. Documentation & Communication: o Accuratelycomplete verification logs, checklists, and related documentation. oCommunicate effectively with operations and leadership teams regardingload status or discrepancies. Operational Efficiency: o Perform dutieswith a high level of urgency while maintaining accuracy and attention todetail. o Support timely truck departures without compromisingverification standards. Additional Responsibilities: o Perform otherRelated Duties As Assigned By Management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not include supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: o High School Diploma or GEDrequired. o Minimum of 12 years of experience in shipping or qualitycontrol preferred. Skills: o Exceptional attention to detail andaccuracy. o Strong understanding of shipping processes, documentation,and inventory systems. o Ability to identify discrepancies andproblem-solve in a fast-paced environment. o Strong written and verbalcommunication skills. o Basic math skills for order and quantityverification. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical Demands: o Frequentstanding, walking, and inspecting loads. o Ability to lift up to 50pounds as needed. o Occasional bending, reaching, and climbing to verifyloads.
