Job Title: DevOps Engineer / ArchitectLocation: Hybrid Cupertino (Bay Area), Austin, TX San Diego, CA 3 days a week Tuesday thru ThursdayDuration: 12–18 Month ContractRole OverviewWe are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer / Architect with strong hands-on expertise in cloud automation and platform engineering. This role is ideal for a well-rounded systems engineer who combines architectural thinking with practical implementation.You will play a key role in designing, automating, and operating scalable infrastructure across cloud platforms, Kubernetes environments, and backend systems. The position focuses on modernizing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), enabling Kubernetes adoption, and building secure, resilient systems using an automation-first mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable cloud infrastructure supporting Kubernetes adoptionDevelop and maintain standardized Terragrunt directory structures across accounts, regions, and environmentsRefactor and migrate legacy Terraform stacks, ensuring minimal downtime and reduced configuration driftArchitect cross-account and cross-cloud deployments with secure RBAC and least-privilege access modelsImplement DRY principles using Terragrunt wrappers and reusable modulesManage Kubernetes configurations using tools such as Helm, Kustomize, Tanka, and JsonnetCollaborate with DevOps and development teams to standardize infrastructure and deployment processesAutomate infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD workflowsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong experience with Kubernetes across cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft AzureHands-on expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practicesExperience with GitOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins and GitHub Actions)Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu)Programming/scripting experience in Python, Golang, or similarExperience with security tools like HashiCorp Vault and cloud security policiesFamiliarity with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)Experience integrating automation tools (Slack bots, Jira workflows, etc.)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication skills in a global, distributed team environmentNice to HaveExperience with tools such as Kong, Jenkins (advanced), NetScaler (Citrix), Route 53Monitoring & observability tools like GrafanaArtifact repositories such as Nexus or ArtifactoryExposure to multi-region and multi-cloud architecturesFamiliarity with Temporal/Cadence and HashiCorp ConsulWhat You’ll BringA strong ownership mindset with the ability to design and implement end-to-end solutionsPassion for automation, scalability, and cloud-native technologiesAbility to work independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment
