Description
The Village of Hoffman Estates is looking for energetic, customer service oriented individuals who have a passion for technology, exceptional communication skills and a very good sense of humor to join our INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY team!
As part of the team you will:
Maintain, update, configure, and patch enterprise applications and provide end user support on basic, intermediate, and advanced application support requests, reports, and expand current software functionality
Provide administrative and technical support for a number of current and future village-wide enterprise resource and collaboration applications such as Microsoft TEAMS, OneNote, SharePoint, DevOps, Laserfiche and Adobe Creative Cloud
Conduct training for staff at all levels of proficiency on the use of the various enterprise systems
Present/explain concepts and ideas clearly and effectively
Work on new projects – including planning, requirements analysis, systems design, implementation, integration, reports development, testing, documentation, training, and go-live activities Have experience with report writing tools such as Crystal Reports, COGNOS, SQL Server Reporting Services
Have working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, AZURE, and MSSQL
Stay up to date with current and changing technical software and hardware advances, requirements and trends
Have a high aptitude for learning new technologies
Work well under pressure

The Village is considering candidates for Business Systems Analyst level I or II, depending on candidate skills and experience.
BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST I
Associates Degree in a computer related field is preferred
Two – four years experience in database modeling, report writing and SQL
Five + years experience as a Business Systems Analyst in lieu of degree
Valid Class D Illinois Driver’s License
Specialized Applications Experience: Enterprise applications including but not limited to customer relationship, enterprise resource planning, document management, and enterprise asset management.
BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST II
Two – four years experience in database modeling, report writing and SQL
Associates Degree in a computer related field is preferred
Seven + years experience as a Business Systems Analyst in lieu of degree
Valid Class D Illinois Driver’s License
Specialized Applications Experience: Enterprise applications including but not limited to customer relationship, enterprise resource planning, document management, and enterprise asset management.
HOURS AND SCHEDULE
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Business Systems Analyst I 2024 Range of $38.2040/hr - $55.3356/hr ($79,464-$115,096 annually)
Business Systems Analyst II 2024 Range of $40.1142/hr - $58.1014/hr ($83,437- $120,851 annually)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Information Technology Department is an internal service department that supports over 400 computer users Village-wide, with a focus on technology planning and maintenance for Village operations. The Information Technology Department is divided into two divisions:
Technical and Network Support: responsible for network communications, hardware and software, training and support.
Business Applications: fund accounting, human resources, benefits and payroll, licensing, utility billing, community development, and revenue applications.
The Village's computer network is spread out across each municipal building with a combination of fiber optics and FCC Licensed microwave wireless.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Maintaining; updating; configuring; and patching enterprise applications and providing end user support on basic; intermediate; and advanced application support requests; reports; and expand current software functionality.
Provide administrative and technical support for a number of current and future village wide enterprise software applications including but not limited to Central Square Enterprise Resource Planning/Financial System (PLUS); Laser Fiche Document Management System; GovQA Citizen Request Management and FOIA solutions; Microsoft Teams; OneNote etc.
Conducts instruction/training for at all levels of proficiency and usage of the various enterprise systems. Manages all details of the training environment including equipment set-up; refresh procedures and the physical and learning needs of the participants.
Work on new projects and be involved with planning; requirements analysis; systems design; implementation; integration; reports development; testing; documentation; training; and go-live activities.
Pursues current and changing technical software and hardware advances and requirements as well as computer industry standards and trends through professional publications; conferences; workshops and seminars. Pursues teaching advances and methods to further the utilization of technology as a tool to enhance workplace efficiency.
Maintains a working relationship with the enterprise application vendors as the liaison to effectively respond to and correct issues Participates and Contributes to various vendor user groups.
Collaborates in a team environment including but not limited to; participation in team and inter/intra departmental meetings and projects.
Operates and properly maintains all tools and equipment needed to perform the essential job functions and responsibilities listed above while adhering to all safety rules and practices.

Other Related Duties
Attends building departmental and Village meetings and serves as a member of various employee committees and task forces when required or assigned.
Maintains and or contributes to department documentation including monthly reports I.T. policies and procedures. Interprets data as well as provides detailed reports on various system functions and resources when required.
Assists in creating documentation detailing design and construction of all Village networks and their inter-connection for the purpose of architecting delivering and maintaining a reliable and stable technology infrastructure appropriate to support the core mission of the department.
Makes suggestions to improve software systems and/or procedures.
Professionally represents the Information Technology Department as a technical consultant on projects.
Follows Village and departmental safety rules and practices.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
