SCM Material Control Specialist

A SCM Material Control Specialist ensures accurate material planning, inventory control, and timely availability of components for production and customer orders. This role focuses on optimizing material flow, preventing shortages or excess, and supporting supply chain efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities:
Material Planning & Control
Monitor material requirements and ensure timely replenishment based on production schedules.
Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
Analyze material usage trends and adjust planning parameters accordingly.
Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align material availability with demand.
Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and resolve discrepancies.
Support engineering changes and ensure material readiness for new product introductions.
Process & Compliance
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards for material handling.
Implement best practices for inventory management and material flow optimization.
Prepare reports on material status, shortages, and excess inventory for management review.
Plan and oversee material movement through production cycle.
Analyzes inventory levels, and accuracy and assists in resolving inventory discrepancies.
Works closely with other departments.
Forecast and simulate future demand.
Monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure there is neither excess nor shortage, impacting production schedules.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
4 years of experience in material control or inventory management.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
