Position Overview: The HLA Lab Manager will oversee all aspects of the HLA laboratory operations, including staff management, quality control, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HLA testing, laboratory management, and team leadership.Key Responsibilities:Manage daily operations of the HLA laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality testing.Supervise, train, and evaluate laboratory staff, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory procedures, protocols, and quality assurance programs.Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including [e.g., CAP, CLIA] standards.Oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting issues as needed.Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies and reagents.Analyze and interpret HLA typing results, providing guidance and support to clinical staff and physicians.Collaborate with other departments and external partners to support research initiatives and patient care.Prepare and present reports on lab performance, quality metrics, and operational updates to senior management.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Immunology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) with a specialization in HLA or related field, or equivalent certification.5 years of experience in HLA testing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.In-depth knowledge of HLA typing techniques, including PCR-based methods and serological assays.
