Electronic Security Systems Engineer
Job Overview
The Electronic Security Systems Engineer (ESSE) provides design, engineering, and advanced technical support of electronic physical security systems including Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Intercom, Emergency Call Systems, and various other Life Safety systems. Utilizing certifications, experience, and knowledge of electronic security systems the ESSE is tasked with the solution development, system architecture design, programming, documentation, installation, testing, training, and preventative maintenance of systems. This role supports the successful delivery and effective operation of electronic security systems from configuration planning through close out and turnover of the project.
Duties
Performs pre- and post-sales site surveys to develop and design effective physical security system solutions.
Designs Electronic Security System architecture for physical security systems including:
LAN/WAN Design (infrastructure, switches, routers, firewalls, and network security)
VSS/ACS/IDS/ECS solution architecture
Physical and logical device placement and layout
Drafts conceptual and/or engineered drawings and system design to meet end user requirements.
Assists in developing GLX Systems configuration standards pre- and post-deployment.
Assists in developing GLX standards System Validation Checklist.
Performs pre-sales take-offs, device schedules, bill of materials generation, product and solution selections.
Performs system operational validation checks.
Trains, mentors, and provides development opportunities to ESCE/ESSA staff.
Performs pre- and post-deployment programming, testing and system performance validation for devices
Assists in testing and evaluating new technology, systems, and configurations.
Performs End-User system training for administrator and operators.
Maintains accurate and thorough configuration documentation.
Participate in the installation of Electronic Security system devices and components
Programming, system start up, testing, and documentation of Physical Electronic Security Systems
Requirements
Advanced IT Networking and Security skills
Advanced IT Hardware and OS Manageability skills
Advanced Electronics and Circuit analysis and the ability to utilize multimeter / cable testing / certification tools
Commitment to safely use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and hoists
Ability to think critically and creatively solve complex problems through system design and programming
Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with diverse groups
Excellent organization, time management, and reporting skills

Pay: $89,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
