Business Development Manager

Candidates must have sales background and experience in developing business relationships. Requires customer relations skills and ability to identify needs and present proposals for new business. Construction sales experience is desirable but not required. This position is based in Nicholasville, KY though it will be covering a multiple state region. Services include owning and operating nineteen short lines, providing emergency rail services associated with derailments and natural disasters, switching, track construction, track material distribution, signal design/construction, building switching locomotives and operating a dinner train.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new client relationships with railroads and rail-served industriesMaintain existing client relationships through regular meetings Generate sales leadsEffective communication of client expectationsKnowledge of the competitive bidding process and cost analysisKnowledge of outside heavy equipment salesEnsure customer satisfactionJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree preferred equivalent experience accepted24 Hour availability for emergency services pertaining to RJC Railroad Services. To include any Storm Team obligations in or out of market.Previous experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform preferredStrong business financial acumen, analytical thinking with well-developed communication and influencing skillsAbility to manage complex projects and multi-taskMust have operated in similar role with 3-5 years related experience, preferably in similar industryDemonstrated experience in a sales environment preferredMust possess excellent written and oral communication skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point.Benefits: R.
