Job Title: Manufacturing Technician Department: Plant Reports to: ME Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY Implements optimal cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods to improve safety, quality, throughput, and support cost reductions. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls, utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Recommends and implements modifications to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to all manufacturing processes to increase safety, productivity or other operational standards. Recommends modifications to existing quality standards to achieve optimum quality within capability. Create manufacturing documentation such as prints, standard work; pick sheets to support the launch of new products. Communicates with Engineering and Production Control to create manufacturing standards that satisfy the interests of departments involved. Performs time and/or motion studies and observations for the purpose of validating process improvements, establishing standards or establishing a baseline. Supports OSHA regulations and good manufacturing practices. Works in a safe manner at all times and insures other employees are doing the same. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED Required. 2-3 years related experience in the manufacturing field required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION None COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both over the phone and in person. Ability to read, write and comprehend documents and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to display active listening skills and ask the appropriate questions. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. ADDITIONAL SKILLS Ability to observe, receive and obtain information from all relevant sources. Ability of attention to detail and analytical thinking. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manufacturing documentation. Ability to operate a Fork Truck.
