Certification DetailsRN license (Arizona or compact state).ACLS.BLS.Job DetailsRegistered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit providing high level care for Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) preps patients for procedures and recovers them post procedure.Works with high risk, high acuity patients with superb outcomes.Performs bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV).Admit patients, prep for Cath procedures including charting pre procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation.Prep patients for Cardioversions (CV) and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE).Recover patients following Cath who had conscious sedation.Sedate, circulate, and document bedside procedures CV & TEE.Discharge patients including teaching, documentation, and physical discharge.Job RequirementsRN license in Arizona or compact state license required.ACLS certification required.BLS certification required.Experience in PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Cath Lab, or Surgery Center considered on a case-by-case basis.Minimum 1 year of experience in the job's specialty.Schedule InformationVaries: 3 x 12 hour shifts: Days (0600-1830, 0700-1930, 0800-2030).Call requirements include Saturday and Sunday.Call is on a rotational basis approximately once every six weeks, may be as frequent as once every 4 weeks.Call includes Saturday from 0700-1700 and Sunday from 0700-1400.Unit Specific InformationCardiac Observation Unit (COU) specializing in care for Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.Unit performs bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV).Works with high risk, high acuity patients.Additional DetailsYears of experience in job's specialty: 1.
