Team Lead 2 - IndirectJob DescriptionThe Team Lead 2 is responsible for ensuring employees in their area follow all safety procedures and work in a manner that meets the objectives for quality, delivery and cost.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate problem solving skills in all areas of responsibilityEnsure all employees are adhering to standard work and any applicable engineering standards related to workstation, machine or departmentTrain team members as needed in all areas of responsibilityEnsure paperwork is being maintained and accurate (reject log, quality log, scrap tickets and stock tickets)Consistently ensure all team members are using PPE and that all safety procedures/guides are strictly followed (ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, shoes)Provide PPE to team members as neededPosition team members at start of shift to maintain adequate hourly/daily output to standard work and line balanceVerify correct OMS are in place for current production and prior to changeoversWork with engineering to make appropriate changes to OMS as requiredIdentify and resolve conflict with team – be a team player and ensure team is playing togetherWork closely with supervisor on team tasks and ensure alignment for goals and objectivesWork with material and assembly teams to ensure smooth, trouble-free changeoversWork with engineering support on any suggestions, improvements or issues that will improve outputFill in for team members when they need to leave their production area – may have to run production for extended periods at times if necessaryWork with Quality Team on any potential or current quality issues that arisePractice and maintain 5S - must become able to implement where necessaryMaintain Positive Attitude and TeamworkMust adhere to attendance policyResponsible for shift stand-up meetingsMonitor shift start-up exercise - all team members participate including team leadersKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesStrong machining background or equivalent technical backgroundMust have working knowledge of CNC applications or equivalent manufacturing processesMust understand quality gauging techniques and processes and how they relate to manufacturing methods (calipers, micrometers, comparator and other required applications)Must be able to work closely with engineering entities on technical issues and new products when starting productionUnderstand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as OMS sheets when availableMust have strong working knowledge of G, D&T and possess ability to read and interpret engineering documents/drawingsMust have strong ability to problem solve with operators, engineers, quality technicians and other personnel related to the manufacturing processIntermediate to advanced math skillsComputer proficiency – able to understand and create reports, operations data and be able to operate JDE and/or AX as required.Flexible technical skills that can be utilized in either assembly processes and methods or technical manufacturing processes (machining, welding, forming)Perform set-ups for equipment and/or lines in areas as required to meet customer demandPerform quality inspections on test equipment and ensure employees are following quality procedures at all timesLeadership skills – must be able to organize and maintain a team atmosphere at all times and understand when to incorporate supervisor to assist with personnel issuesMust be key driver for team to meet objectives related to Safety, Quality, Delivery and CostMust understand area goal/deliverablesAble to learn quickly and be able to adapt as necessaryMust be able to demonstrate and exemplify the Milwaukee Culture: Obsessed, Candid, Speed, Agility, Urgency, We Create Empowered Leaders, Never Satisfied, Always ImprovingEducation And Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent2-year Associates or Vocational Certification a plusPrevious management experience a plusMilwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
