Graduate Electrical Engineer
OverviewThe Graduate Electrical Engineer position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Boston area team out of Burlington, MA. We are sharing knowledge, learning, growing, and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group’s ongoing expansion in the US. Our office is executing cutting-edge projects for Pharmaceutical, Biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy, manufacturing facilities – from feasibility through to qualification – for both local and international clients. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.This is an entry level career position and we are looking for an Engineer who enjoys client interaction as well as the technical aspects of the position. This individual needs to have a basic understanding of the technical aspects of Electrical design engineering with a desire to learn. The ability to successfully handle multiple real-time complex project and operational tasks as well as maintain a strong work ethic and drive to deliver for clients as a collaborative colleague are a must for this role. The Graduate Electrical Engineer will be mentored by the senior level Electrical Engineering team members and will assist with the development of design documents such as Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Security and Telecommunications Plans, Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Calculations, etc. Expect project work to include all levels of design: feasibility studies, conceptual & schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry projects doing both existing building improvements and new construction.PM Group is an employee owned, international project delivery firm with a team of 4,000+ people. We are focused on growing a sustainable business centered on our people, our clients and trade partners.ResponsibilitiesAssist with generation and development of Calculations, Design layouts (power, lighting, fire alarm, security, telecommunications), Single Line Diagrams, Grounding Plans, Details and Schedule sheets3D modeling using Revit of electrical equipment, cable tray and conduit routing, lighting design, security, fire alarm and telecommunications systemsAssist with developing sustainable and net zero design solutions for clientsAssist with development of each package through Concept, Basic Design and Detailed DesignInterface with vendors and other disciplines ensuring the highest level of service is providedDelivery of agreed design scope within budget hours and scheduleDevelop project documents (e.g. calculations, reports and construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients, according to regulatory and industry standardsCoordinate with other internal disciplines as well as external team members (e.g. vendors, clients, and contractors)Code analysis and application related to the Electrical and Fire Alarm disciplinesResearch Electrical / utility materials and methods as requiredAssist with design development of project packages and coordinating with the design team at the direction of the Lead Electrical EngineerDevelop lighting calculations, power calculations, (including standby/emergency power, UPS, and normal power), and assist with arc flash, short circuit and coordination studiesEquipment selections based on recommendations of Lead Electrical Engineer and completion of equipment schedulesSize and develop layouts for cable traySize and develop layouts for underground and above ground conduit plansPerform construction assistance in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visitsSpecial projects as requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringPrevious Co-op or Internship experience in the field of Electrical Engineering is preferredExperience working with AutoCAD and RevitThe ability to travel as needed for client and project developmentLocal to the office and able to come in 4 days a week to startAll of your information is confidential according to EEO guidelines.Why PM Group?As an employee-owned company, we are inclusive, committed and driven. This range represents the base salary that PM Group reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting.
