Quality Control Manager
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to serve as the onsite lead for quality control operations on FAA and Federal Highway projects. This position reports directly to the Quality Control Program Administrator (QCPA) and acts as the primary onsite representative responsible for maintaining production, coordinating testing and inspections, and ensuring the Quality Control Plan is followed on a daily basis.This role is hands-on and field-driven, ideal for someone who understands airport construction, FAA requirements, and how to keep quality operations moving efficiently in an active airfield environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the onsite QC lead, managing daily quality control activities under the approved QCPCoordinate and direct QC inspectors, technicians, and testing activitiesMaintain daily production flow by aligning QC efforts with construction activitiesEnsure all work complies with FAA requirements, project specifications, and contract documentsReview, track, and report test results, inspections, and deficienciesIssue and follow up on corrective actions when quality issues arisePrepare and submit daily QC reports and supporting documentationCoordinate with the Contractor, Engineer, and Airport on quality-related mattersServe as the primary onsite point of contact for QC, escalating issues to the QCPA as neededSupport safe work practices within an active airport environmentRequired QualificationsMinimum 2 years of airport construction experience in a QC/QA roleEngineering Degree (Preferably Civil) OR NICET level 2 or higher in any category OR Other equivalent certificationDemonstrated experience implementing and maintaining a Quality Control PlanFamiliarity with FAA-funded projects and airfield construction standards OR Familiarity with FHWA-funded projects and highway construction standardsStrong understanding of testing, inspection, and documentation requirementsAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedulesStrong communication and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsPrior experience as a Quality Control Manager or Lead QC Inspector on airport projectsExperience with FHWA FP-14Experience with FAA P- and L- itemsBackground in materials testing (concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates)Comfortable making field decisions and maintaining production paceCompensation$25–$50 per hour, based on experience and certification levelOpportunity to lead QC operations on a high-profile construction projectsOption for further employment on future projectsClear chain of command and defined responsibilitiesProfessional, focused team environmentPersonal work vehicle (New and Updated Truck)Per-diem for all days worked on-siteAll lodging covered by company during employment
