Company Description The Mid-North Food Pantry is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Indianapolis neighborhoods by providing supplemental food and basic necessities to those in need. With a mission rooted in compassion, dignity, and respect, the pantry aims to address and reduce hunger and food insecurity within the community. Operating during the critical hours of 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the organization is committed to being a dependable resource for its neighbors. Volunteers and staff work collaboratively to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for all. Role Description This is a part-time, on-site unpaid Summer Intern role located in Indianapolis, IN. The intern will assist with daily pantry operations, which include organizing and distributing food and supplies, restocking shelves, and ensuring the pantry remains clean and organized. Responsibilities also include supporting fundraising or community outreach activities, data entry, and maintaining records to track inventory and services provided. The intern will collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and ensure that visitors receive compassionate service. Qualifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for inventory management and record-keepingInterpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent service to clients and collaborate effectively with team membersAbility to perform physical activities, such as lifting boxes and stocking food shelvesProficiency in basic computer applications, including data entry software and spreadsheetsPassion for community service and addressing food insecurityWillingness to work on-site and commit to scheduled hours
