Mid/Senior Java Developer (Banking/Fintech)

We are looking for a Mid/Senior Java Developer to join a long-term fintech/banking project. The role involves designing and developing scalable backend solutions using Java 21 and Spring Boot, working within a microservices architecture, and ensuring high performance and reliability of backend systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with REST API development, cloud environments (AWS), and modern DevOps practices, and holds valid residency in Lithuania, Latvia, or Estonia (citizenship required; background check applies).Key Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend systems using Java 21 and Spring BootBuild and optimize REST APIs following best practices in software architectureWork within a microservices architecture, ensuring modularity and maintainabilityManage builds and dependencies using GradleWrite and maintain automated tests using JUnit, Mockito, and AssertJEnsure code quality through SonarQube analysis and code review processesWork with GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipeline managementContainerize and deploy services using Docker on AWSImplement logging with Logback / SLF4J and monitor systems via GrafanaHandle asynchronous event-driven communication using KafkaWork with PostgreSQL as the primary database and Redis for cachingApply strong security principles and best practices throughout the development lifecycleCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environmentMust-Have Requirements:Proven professional experience in Java development with a strong technical backgroundProficiency in Java 21 and Spring BootExperience with Gradle as a build and dependency management toolHands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, and AssertJ for testingFamiliarity with SonarQube for code quality assuranceSolid experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Docker containerizationHands-on experience with AWS cloud servicesKnowledge of Logback and SLF4J for loggingExperience with Grafana for system monitoringWorking knowledge of Kafka for messaging and event streamingProficiency with PostgreSQL and RedisExpertise in solution design and microservices architectureStrong understanding of security principles and best practices in software developmentKnowledge of DevOps practices and related toolingStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with a collaborative mindsetLithuanian, Latvian, or Estonian citizenship (residency requirement; BGC required)Fluency in EnglishNice to Have: Prior experience working on fintech projectsWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
