Food Service Specialist (1190)
Job Purpose
The Food Services Specialist is to work as assigned within the Dietary Department to prepare, serve, and/or deliver food to Inpatient clients, Board meetings, residential units, and other staff functions. This employee is also responsible for kitchen sanitation and cleanliness including dishes, pots/pans, washing and routine cleaning of the dietary equipment, floors, and storage area.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual meal plans.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with nutritionists and dietitians to develop and modify menus that meet the nutritional needs of clients.
Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of food supplies, to ensure adequate availability of ingredients and materials.
Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and service.
Monitor food service operations to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction.
Implement and adhere to food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items.
Coordinate with other departments to support special events and catering needs within the facility.
Maintain accurate records of food service activities, including meal counts, inventory logs, and compliance reports.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
