Sr. Marketing Manager, Luggage
Our brand client is seeking a Sr. Marketing Manager, Luggage expert to join their team on a fulltime basis. They will be onsite Monday-Thursday in Carlsbad, California.This position requires extensive knowledge of the luggage industry including brands, retail channels, product development and understanding of the wider travel creator landscape. You should be fluent in the tone, trends, and expectations of todays travel audience. This role reports to the Director of Brand Marketing.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy & Planning- Translate consumer and market insights into actionable strategies that influence creative direction, messaging, and product storytelling.- Establish and lead integrated marketing strategy and annual operating plans that drive brand awareness, product adoption, and long-term category growth across DTC, retail, and wholesale channels.- Define category marketing priorities in alignment with brand strategy, seasonal business objectives, and global campaign calendars.- Own and steward the annual category marketing budget, allocating investments across channels to maximize ROI and long-term brand equity.- Develop and maintain a 13 year category growth roadmap informed by consumer insights, competitive analysis, and emerging travel trends.Campaign Development & Execution- Lead go-to-market plans for new travel collections from concept to post-launch analysis.- Serve as the category marketing lead across product, creative, digital, and sales teams, influencing priorities and ensuring cross-functional alignment.- Oversee multi-channel campaign execution across paid media, social, PR, influencer, experiential, and retail activations, ensuring strategic alignment and measurable impact.Brand & Content Marketing- Lead go-to-market plans for new travel collections from concept to post-launch analysis.- Serve as the category marketing lead across product, creative, digital, and sales teams, influencing priorities and ensuring cross-functional alignment.- Oversee multi-channel campaign execution across paid media, social, PR, influencer, experiential, and retail activations, ensuring strategic alignment and measurable impact.- Deliver consistent brand expression across all consumer touchpoints including digital, packaging, retail and partnerships.Influencer, PR & Community- Build relationships with creators, athletes, and travelers who authentically embody OGIOs brand ethos.- Partner with PR and communications teams to secure earned media, press coverage, and product placement opportunities.- Plan and execute experiential activations, pop-ups, and community events that strengthen brand connection and generate organic awareness.- Oversee product seeding and influencer gifting to create buzz and user-generated content.Analytics & Optimization- Own category performance analysis, synthesizing insights and presenting strategic recommendations- Translate campaign insights into optimizations that enhance future performance and inform strategic direction.- Proactively assess competitive landscape, pricing strategy, and category trends to identify risks and growth opportunities.TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)- Strong ability to analyze data, extract insights, and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling brand narratives.- Creative and strategic thinker capable of operating independently in a fast-paced environment.- Strong fluency in marketing analytics platforms and performance dashboards, with the ability to translate data into strategic business recommendations.- Deep understanding of digital media strategy and performance marketing principles, with the ability to oversee internal channel experts and agency partners.- Working knowledge of CRM and lifecycle marketing strategy across travel consumer segments.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- 6-8+ years of experience in brand, category, or product marketing within luggage, outdoor, or lifestyle brands, including demonstrated leadership of cross-functional initiatives.In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
