Job Description
The City of Thompson is currently accepting applications for the above senior management position.
The City of Thompson is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable financial leader to serve as our Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the City Manager, the CFO is responsible for directing the administration, control, and reporting of all financial and fiscal matters for the City. This position ensures that all financial policies comply with provincial and federal legislation, and provides strategic guidance to support transparent, accountable, and sustainable financial management.
The successful candidate will oversee the Assistant Financial Officer, Financial Analyst, Purchasing Agent and all Finance staff with the administration of all financial matters of the City of Thompson.
Qualifications
A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Extensive experience in municipal accounting.
Accreditation from the Municipal Administrators program.
Possession of CA, CGA or CMA designation is considered an asset.
Supervisor experience.
Knowledge of computer applications and experience working with the Great Plains application is also required.
