Freight Handler (9:30 PM start shift)

Join our dynamic logistics team as a Freight Handler and become a vital part of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and shipment of goods. Your proactive approach will ensure that materials are handled safely and accurately, supporting seamless supply chain processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and inventory management while contributing to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. The shift starts at 9:30 pm, split day work week off Saturday night and one night during the week.
Pay: $19.50
Responsibilities
Load and unload shipments using various heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and crane systems.
Perform order picking with RF scanners and manual methods to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Operate material handling equipment safely in accordance with OSHA standards and safety protocols.
Manage inventory levels through proper materials handling, stock rotation, and recording transactions within the warehouse management system.
Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments.
Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting to move goods within the warehouse while adhering to safety guidelines.
Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for storage or dispatch, ensuring optimal space utilization and accessibility.
Skills
Proven experience in warehouse operations, including order picking, shipping & receiving, and inventory management.
Skilled in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, load & unload machinery, and crane systems with mechanical knowledge of their functions.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate inventory tracking.
Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, weights, and inventory counts.
Strong understanding of safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards; committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
Experience with manual handling techniques involving heavy lifting and materials handling equipment operation like pallet jacks.
Construction or industrial experience is a plus, demonstrating mechanical aptitude and familiarity with heavy machinery.
