Commissioning Engineer

Commissioning Engineer (CX) – Data CenterOverviewWe are seeking an experienced CX (Commissioning) Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale data center project in Texas. This is an initial 8-month contract with strong potential for extension, working on a high-profile, mission-critical facility.The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and control systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and execute commissioning activities across all project phases (Level 1–5 commissioning).Review and validate design documentation, specifications, and submittals.Develop and execute commissioning plans, scripts, and procedures.Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and client teams to ensure smooth commissioning processes.Witness and document factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).Perform functional and integrated systems testing (IST) for critical systems.Identify, track, and resolve commissioning issues (deficiencies and punch lists).Ensure all systems meet performance, reliability, and redundancy requirements.Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and reports.Support handover, training, and final project closeout activities.Systems Experience (Preferred)UPS systemsGenerators and fuel systemsHVAC (CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers)BMS / EPMS systemsPower distribution (MV/LV systems, switchgear)Fire detection and suppression systemsQualifications & ExperienceDegree or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).Proven experience commissioning mission-critical facilities, preferably data centers.Strong understanding of commissioning processes and standards (ASHRAE, CSA, etc.).Experience with Level 3–5 commissioning and integrated systems testing.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.Excellent communication and reporting abilities.Contract DetailsLocation: Texas (site-based role)Start: 18th MayDuration: 8 MonthsCompetitive hourly rate rateFor more information please contact: jason.mabbs@clear-er.com
