ResponsibilitiesThe Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. This role ensures all utensils, cookware, and equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored while supporting kitchen operations and upholding safety standards.Wash, sanitize, and maintain all kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and cookwareMaintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, workstations, storage areas, and garbage disposalAssist culinary staff with basic support as neededFollow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipmentMonitor and report maintenance needs for kitchen equipmentEnsure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA standardsSupport inventory management for cleaning supplies, chemicals, and utensilsAssist with setup and breakdown of kitchen and service areasFollow all company policies and proceduresRequirementsMust be at least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in kitchen stewarding or sanitation a plusKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsAbility to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.Attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively with team members and supervisorsFlexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
