PROJECT MANAGER-LA
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the startup, execution, and ongoing operations of the Louisiana mining site. This role provides on-site and remote leadership to ensure production goals, safety compliance, financial controls, and operational standards are met. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability between executive leadership, consultants, contractors, and on-site personnel and ensures the mine operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with MSHA and company policies.
Essential Functions:
Oversee daily mining operations, including material extraction, processing, stockpiling, and shipment coordination.
Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and company safety policies.
Coordinate startup activities, equipment commissioning, and operational readiness.
Serve as the primary on-site or designated operational authority for mine activities.
Manage production schedules, staffing coverage, and workflow coordination.
Monitor operational performance, production volumes, downtime, and efficiency metrics.
Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, and service providers to support operations.
Ensure accurate operational records, production reporting, and documentation are maintained.
Oversee site logistics including equipment movement, fuel usage tracking, and material flow.
Identify operational risks, safety concerns, or compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
Support scale house operations, ensuring accurate tonnage tracking and billing support.
Communicate regularly with executive leadership regarding site performance, issues, and progress.
Enforce company policies, site rules, and accountability standards across all personnel.
Ensure that MSHA records are maintained and up to date.
Create, establish and implement equipment maintenance systems and maintain up to date equipment maintenance logs
Ensure that required MSHA training is performed and completed on time.
Design, develop and implement site security plans and maintain adequate security of Company assets.
Ensure trucks are loaded and scaled correctly.
Interface with Company sales teams to create production projections and forecasts.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and operational expense monitoring.
Support hiring, onboarding, and training coordination for site personnel.
Participate in safety meetings, inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.
Support emergency response planning and incident investigation when required.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support mine operations and business objectives.
Supervisory Responsibility

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, operations management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining, heavy industrial operations, construction, or aggregate operations.
Experience overseeing heavy equipment operations and site logistics.
Strong understanding of MSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, and operational teams.
Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills.
Ability to manage budgets, track costs, and control operational expenses.
Proficiency with basic computer systems, reporting tools, and documentation platforms.
Willingness to obtain required MSHA training and certifications.
Availability to work extended hours and weekends as operational needs require.
