We are also proud of our commitment to expand opportunities for people in underrepresented communities.Position OverviewThe Construction Inspector will support a federal non-personal services contract providing Construction Management (CM) and Quality Assurance (QA) services for DHS/ICE projects. This role involves oversight of construction activities, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality control processes across a variety of government projects.Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Inspection and OversightInterpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documentsInspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project requirementsMonitor contractor and subcontractor activities, including equipment operators and mechanicsEnsure adherence to safety regulations and environmental compliance standards Quality Assurance (QA) and ControlMonitor and enforce the 3-phase control process (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up phases)Attend preparatory and initial-phase meetings and conduct follow-up inspectionsVerify contractor documentation, including: o Meeting minutes o Daily Construction Quality Control (CQC) reportsEnsure the contractor effectively implements and maintains the CQC program Project Coordination and DocumentationPerform design and submittal reviewsTrack deficiencies and ensure resolutionLog, review, and distribute submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs)Prepare QA reports and maintain project documentation filesSupport development of Scopes of Work (SOW)Assist with construction cost estimating Testing and Compliance MonitoringMonitor and document: o Material testing compliance o System testing and commissioningEnsure completion of as-built drawings and project closeout documentation Meetings and ReportingAttend weekly and monthly QA meetingsParticipate in contractor meetings regarding scheduling, claims, and project issuesProvide recommendations, analyses, and reports to ICE OAFM personnelWork Environment and ExpectationsMust be willing to travel and perform extended site visits (2+ weeks)Projects may require assignments in multiple states or territoriesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionCapable of meeting tight deadlines under expedited project schedulesRemote work may be required depending on assignmentProject TypesProjects may include:New construction and renovation (design-bid-build and design-build)Maintenance and administrative facilitiesDetention housing and dormitory facilitiesTraining facilitiesSpecialized projects such as: o Body Worn Camera (BWC) warehouse renovations o Armory relocations/consolidations o Restroom expansions o Microgrid installations Projects may involve multiple disciplines, including:Security systemsCommunicationsElectrical power upgradesFire detection and protection systemsPotential Work LocationsAssignments may include (but are not limited to):San Juan, PR (Antilles Facility)St. Croix / St. Thomas (USVI)Fort Moore, GAMiami, FL (Krome Service Processing Center)Port Isabel, TXEl Paso, TXEl Centro, CAAdditional ExpectationsProvide guidance and support to government field officesIdentify and report design or constructability issuesDeliver professional recommendations that may influence government decision-makingMaintain accountability for high-quality, timely deliverablesMinimum Requirements10-15 years of relevant construction inspection experienceU.S. Citizenship (required)OSHA certification (required)Ability to pass a DHS/ICE security background checkStrong proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English (Spanish is a plus)BENEFITS:Cube Root Corporation offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceShort-term and long-term disability coverageLife and ADD insurance401(k) retirement planPaid time offStrong career growth opportunitiesEqual Opportunity EmployerCube Root Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE AA M/F/VET/DISABILITY).
