This position is responsible for installing, wiring, and configuring security systems such as alarms, access control, CCTV, and related hardware at customer locations. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical diagrams, programming system software, testing and troubleshooting installations, and ensuring all equipment operates according to specifications and safety standards. The role also involves documenting work performed, providing basic user training to clients, and collaborating with team members to complete projects on schedule. The Installer / Programmer will interact with customers on-site, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and uphold Terrapin Security’s quality and service standards.Qualifications Experience with installation, wiring, and basic programming of security systems or similar low-voltage systems.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues, including testing and diagnosing system performance.Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, ladders, and related equipment following safety guidelines.Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and explaining system operation.Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Denton, MD.High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in electronics, networking, or security systems are a plus.Willingness to learn new technologies, follow company procedures, and maintain confidentiality of client information.
